Convention Rules

The convention's code of conduct and other rules are subject to change at any time, and without notice, at the discretion of the convention.

Isekai Anime Con has a number of rules, and regulations that help make the convention run smoothly and be as fun as possible for everyone. We encourage you to read our rules to understand what is expected to help make the most fun weekend possible. In addition to these general conduct policies. Violations of these rules and regulations can result in loss of privileges, up to and including ejection without refund, legal action, or involvement of the authorities.

For Cosplay Contest rules please follow this link.

Code of Conduct

Play-fighting and/or rough-housing is not allowed.

Do not do anything that risks or threatens the safety or well-being of anyone at the convention.

No harassment, providing a harassment-free convention experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age or religion is our goal. We do NOT tolerate harassment in any form.

Cosplay is NOT consent. Respect the personal space, privacy, opinions, and feelings of your fellow members.

Just because someone is dressed provocatively does not mean they want to be touched or photographed without explicit consent. Violations to this rule will be taken very seriously.

Intentionally making someone uncomfortable will not be tolerated. If it makes someone feel uncomfortable, it's not okay.

We will remove individuals who we believe cause serious harassment. This can include but is not limited to revoking badges, removal from the premises, or the police being called.

We don't want the harassed to feel afraid to report a situation that may only be "mildly annoying" to them, so we will try to tailor our actions appropriately. In very minor cases an individual may be given a warning and allowed to return to events, but this only applies to situations where there was a genuine misunderstanding between the parties that we feel won't be an indicator of future problems.

Pets and animals are not allowed in the convention center, unless they are working animals.

Smoking is not allowed in the convention center, not even in the patios.

Isekai Anime Con does not condone illegal activities, including underage drinking and smoking, or the use of illegal substances. Attendees found breaking the law will be banned with no refund from the convention.

Anything that is illegal outside the convention is illegal inside the convention.

Badges
Your badge must be worn at all times at a location that is visible.

You must show your badge to any Isekai Anime Con staff member who requests to see it.

Your badge has a unique number on it. Do not share your badge with others.

The convention badges may be revoked at any time by an Isekai Anime Con Director for any rules violation without a refund.

Do not create, use or distribute counterfeit badges. You will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law and banned from Isekai Anime Con permanently.

If you have forgotten your badge in your room or your car, we ask that you go back and get it and keep it securely on you at all times during the entire event.

If you are not wearing your badge, you may be kicked out of the convention center we are holding the event at.

In the event you have lost your badge, we encourage you to trace your steps and see where you might have lost it. If you can’t find it, please stop by our Information Booth.

We will ask for information about where you lost it, and let you know if its found.

There’s cases in which individuals abuse the opportunity to obtain a replacement badge in order to provide badges to their friends without paying, and so providing a free replacement badge is likely not possible.

If you have found a badge, PLEASE turn it in promptly to our Lost and Found or Information Booth. Our staff will do everything they can to get it back to its rightful owner.

Event Policies

Line jumping and  saving spots is not permitted at these events (If your friends were there and had to go use the restroom its ok to save their spots).

If you need to use the washroom or get a drink of water while in line, let the staff managing the line know before you go so that you will get your spot back when you return.

If you leave an event room after an event has started there is no guarantee you will get back in if the room you have left has filled to capacity.

If a room fills to capacity the line will be cut off. For some events the line may be capped if it gets too long.

We ask that while standing in line attendees attempt to stand single file to keep hallways open for movement.

No liquids will be allowed in panel and event rooms, there will be water stations near Main Events and Lounge areas to enjoy your drinks.

Staff members and Security may at any time inspect your badge.

Staff members and Security may deny entrance to an event for safety reasons.

Costumes that could be confused with local, state, or federal law enforcement of any kind are not permitted.

Flesh colored garments or accessories do not count as coverage.

Body paint must be sealed, dry, and non-transferable. If you sit on any venue furniture and stain it with body paint you will be responsible for all damage expenses.

Underwear is not clothing and cannot be worn on its own.

Shoes must be worn at all times (Flip-flops are okay to wear).

No roller-wear is allowed in the convention center including but not limited to roller skates, hoverboards, and skateboards.

For your safety, your costumes safety, and the safety of others please be conscious of your surroundings while in cosplay. For the Formal Ball Dress code please follow this link!

Weapons
Prop weapons can be an important part of cosplay, but sometimes fans forget the "prop" part and the weapons are real or dangerous.

We want to ensure our members safety and see your creativity in building harmless props. Have weapons inspected and peace bound at the Weapons Check booth next to Registration upon arrival. All weapons and large props must be inspected and approved by our operations or security staff at the convention.

Bringing large props and weapons to the convention is a privilege, everyone must take great care to be careful not to damage things, whack people, or otherwise do anything that seems dangerous.

Realistic looking guns are only allowed if they have a bright and obvious orange tip that shows they are fake.

Guns that actually work, or have the potential to work, or might be mistaken by the public as real, are NOT allowed.

Swords are allowed if they can be tied shut in their sheath, or if they are made of wood or plastic.

Swords must never be waved around or wielded, but they can be used for still posing for photographs.

Toy bows, or otherwise wooden or plastic bows can sometimes be okay, professional or compound bows are not.

Bows and crossbow props may not carry any arrows or bolts. Equipping an arrow to a bow is never acceptable, even for photos. This is to ensure everyone's safety.

Anything that is entirely obviously a toy/fake weapon that can not be mistaken for something that is actually a real weapon is allowed but will have to go through the Weapon Check booth to receive a ribbon or mark that indicates we have checked them.

Large props are generally okay, if you are mindful of them. However if we find that we have large crowds, or if they become a problem, we may ask you to return them to your car, hotel or home. We cannot store them for you.

Real weapons and dangerous things are not allowed in the convention center, security will ask you to leave the convention if you break this rule.

Airborne items are not allowed inside the convention center.

Any weapons may be disallowed at any time at the discretion of the convention's staff. If you are repeatedly asked to return an unacceptable prop to your car, hotel room, or home, your prop may be confiscated by the Convention.

Photo, Film, Media Policies
By attending the convention you understand that convention staff may take video footage and photographs throughout the convention which may be used in highlights, marketing endeavors, or other media.

You consent to be filmed or photographed by staff, approved industry, or media during the entire convention without compensation to you.

Your attendance constitutes a grant of rights to the convention to reproduce, display, distribute, perform, or otherwise use any video or pictures that it obtains and in any manner throughout the world in perpetuity, including online, for broadcast, or other transmissions.

Photography and video recording of any kind are strictly prohibited during any AMV contest or anime screening.

These rules apply to all types of attendees, including exhibitors, press, and other congoers. We may also establish additional policies covering press, exhibitors, and others.
